WITCH GANG MAGAZINE
What Is Witch Gang?
Witch Gang is an independent art and culture magazine created by Arlo Robbins. The idea started with a series of photography zines they started in high school, taking photos of friends in striking fashion. The goal of Witch Gang is to amplify the voices of the messy, progressive, iconoclastic, creative young people of the modern day.
The magazine is a curated showcase of work and ideas from fellow artists and punk-thinkers through photography, writing, interviews, art, and more.
Why “Witch Gang?”
The name Witch Gang is inspired by the Salem witch trials, where people were accused of practicing witchcraft and many were executed. In reality, these accusations were largely based on xenophobia and sexism and the real “devil’s magic” being practiced was the act of straying from the status quo. Witch Gang is a community of witches who are proud to have the magic power to stand out and push the boundaries of culture in spite of the powers that be.
